refinished table with patina

This is an old table that had a dark, 'gooey' finish. It had definitely lived an interesting life. The folks who owned it intended to use it in the back yard. I live in the Pacific Northwest, and it would not have survived one month in our weather, so I decided to rescue it. It's currently in my office, and it's the perfect size for crafts, coffee, and overflow from the desk.
The finish on this table was soft and sticky. The table itself was also short. I added bun feet (purchased online) and used a stripper that wouldn't harm the patina or raise the grain.
After much elbow-grease and 3 coats of polyurethane, this little table just glows! The patina remained, and the polyurethane makes it practical.
