Are you dying to take a paintbrush to your outdated kitchen cabinets? You know your kitchen could look SO much better - if only your husband was on board. But no worries - if sweet talking isn't working, these incredible DIY kitchen cabinet updates will definitely convince your husband to let you have at it!
1. The Best Transformation
In Southern Texas, one creative couple had a quaint, dimly lit kitchen with beautiful wooden cabinets, but it lacked character. During a small reno, the lady of the house finally convinced her cautious husband to let her give the cabinets a French country rustic makeover with chalk paint. The difference is so remarkable, even he couldn't have seen this coming!
2. The Biggest Space-Saver
If your partner is all about efficiency, convince him that it's time to paint, with this clever cabinet upgrade! Instead of keeping that awkward above cabinet space, this brilliant couple decided to bring the cabinets to the ceiling with some MDF additions, and get a more stately style.
3. The Brightest Makeover
For kitchens lacking natural light, this eye-opening makeover is the best way to brighten your cooking space. This couple transformed their dark wooden kitchen into a light-infused space that even your husband won't be able to deny is so worth the work.
4. The Highest Value
From boring to bold, this couple's $200 makeover is the perfect way to convince him that a cabinet makeover is as simple as a couple coats of paint and some inexpensive hardware.
5. The Quickest Job
Using a smart painting plan like this brave Hometalk couple, you can finish your full cabinet redo, including a hardware update, in just a day or two! Imagine how surprised your hubby will be with a two day transformation like this!
6. The Most Colorful
If he's afraid you'll paint your kitchen into a boring neutral, you can convince him to paint, and hold onto your dreams of a white kitchen - just pair bright white with a colorful partner, like this vibrant turquoise accent!

Pretty neat. I hate cleaning too, and I live in earthquake country, so those open shelves won't do. BUT, this kitchen will have so much more flexibility up there --it's almost like a pantry. More stuff fits! Add the openness factor and I think it's a winner.
