A New Take on a Bread Box

We're bread people. I know, I know, people are moving away from bread - too many carbs etc, but we still love bread and there's usually a fresh baguette sitting on the counter.
Except I don't have tons of counter space and so often it ends up in the fridge - getting hard.

When we moved into this fixer upper there were 2 things I could salvage - a handmade rustic ladder and this.
John was going to throw it away but I held on to it because I knew I could use it for something. Last weekend when there was a houseload of people - the idea was born. A little paint, some stenciling and voila!
Some people have breadboxes - I have " Un Boite de Baguette " LOL!

Simply Vintageous...by Suzan on Jul 28, 2015Thanks ! I have no idea what it was - maybe a magazine holder? I think it was probably made in a woodworking class ?

Mona on Jul 29, 2015Great use! I have a little thing I say when it come across stuff (even familiar things) if it didn't know what it was what would it be? It helps me to see things different and to think of a new use. Almost like Ariel in Disneys version of the Little Mermaid using a fork as a comb. Your flibergibet makes a perfect baguette holder. I don't know if I would have seen what you did, but perfect use, bread is soo good!
