Need ideas for redoing this wardrobe which will be used in a kitchen

I am redoing my kitchen and use this wardrobe to store cookbooks, chocolate pretzel supplies and seldom used kitchen appliances. Thinking of going with medium blues. I plan on keeping the "vintage" aspect, one of which are the original subway tiles.

Can you send us a picture of your kitchen?

Chalk paint, distress and seal. Could add wood applique if desired but a glass doorknob and old fashioned skeleton key would give it some "age". Good luck!

Go for a bright color, red, yellow or a color that makes you smile.

I did this with something very much like this, I painted it jadite green then sanded the edges to give it a worn look, I added shelves at different heights, we did one for my sister and took out the insides of the doors and put screen an aged the screen

Well Hannah, I would first strip the current finish to see what the color of the natural wood is before adding chalk paint that compliments the color scheme of the kitchen and then put a glaze on. Now you could also use chalkboard paint on the upper inset of the door for noting grocery items needed or for messages.

Vintage looking chalk paint, chippy look. Cut center panels out of door and put something you like in it to show off your nice things inside. Old screen, vintage glass... ???

How about knocking out center piece putting in chicken wire and painting vintage sage or sage rubbed over brown or black for a country kitchen look.

Advice. Don't weaken the structural integrity of this piece by removing door panels. Use one of the best chalk paints, paint a design on those panels and wax seal. I immediately thought of the many small choppers, hand mixers, electric knives etc., etc., I NEED a place to store my large mixer and the bottom shelf of this furniture would be perfect.

If you don't want to paint, you can cover with fabric, even make matching curtains.

You could paint blue then stencil a design on to add accents.

You will not ruin the structural integrity of this piece by removing a door panel or two. The door is NOT part of the structure so you don't need to worry about that! So if the idea of replacing with glass appeals to you, do it! This piece could come in real handy for lots of things, but color depends on what you paint your kitchen and the rest of your cabinets.

I found this piece on the side of the road with a free sign on it. Same color as yours to begin with, and then...

What about doing a crackle finish? I crackled a chest of drawers for my bathroom. Ivory as base coat then crackle coat a light blue green.
