Beth W on Jul 29, 2015Chalk paint, distress and seal. Could add wood applique if desired but a glass doorknob and old fashioned skeleton key would give it some "age". Good luck!Helpful Reply

LD on Jul 30, 2015Well Hannah, I would first strip the current finish to see what the color of the natural wood is before adding chalk paint that compliments the color scheme of the kitchen and then put a glaze on. Now you could also use chalkboard paint on the upper inset of the door for noting grocery items needed or for messages.Helpful Reply

Marilyn on Jul 30, 2015Advice. Don't weaken the structural integrity of this piece by removing door panels. Use one of the best chalk paints, paint a design on those panels and wax seal. I immediately thought of the many small choppers, hand mixers, electric knives etc., etc., I NEED a place to store my large mixer and the bottom shelf of this furniture would be perfect.Helpful Reply

Bess W on Jul 30, 2015If you don't want to paint, you can cover with fabric, even make matching curtains.Helpful Reply

Martha on Jul 30, 2015You could paint blue then stencil a design on to add accents.Helpful Reply

Cherie on Jul 30, 2015You will not ruin the structural integrity of this piece by removing a door panel or two. The door is NOT part of the structure so you don't need to worry about that! So if the idea of replacing with glass appeals to you, do it! This piece could come in real handy for lots of things, but color depends on what you paint your kitchen and the rest of your cabinets.Helpful Reply
