How To Paint Laminate Furniture

I was at a garage sale down our street one day and ran across a cute little bedside table. I don't usually buy laminate furniture, but I really liked the style of it and thought I could transform it so I bought it for $10.00

First step was to wipe down the table with a damp cloth and remove the knobs.
Before - A laminate end table
I saw a blog on decoupaging using a napkin so I wanted to try it. I also had matching paint on hand that matched one of the colors exactly! It was my lucky day (lol).
Using a foam brush and my home made aqua chalk paint, I painted the first of two coats all over the end table. For the "drawer" part that I was going to decoupage with a napkin, I used Zinsser Bulleye's 1-2-3 paint because it does a terrific job of covering up laminate. I applied 3 coats to make sure it was nice and white.
A napkin decoupaged onto the drawer
I measured the drawer and cut the napkin accordingly. It actually took me a couple of tries since I never did this before. I applied the napkin using watered down matte finish Mod Podge. Check out my blog for the full details.
After - A cute bedside table fit for a prince
I used the original knobs because I liked the simple style and didn't want the knobs to compete with the drawers as they were the focal point. I sprayed the knobs with Rustoleum hammered silver. Please check out my blog for all the details.
