Connie on Aug 03, 2015I have covered old ceramic vases with decorative papers to change the look. Just used a clean vase surface and diluted white glue to wet and adhere the paper strips. Allow to dry and apply several coats of Polycrylic clear coat. Would work the same on a toilet tank lid.Helpful Reply

Rebecca Bender on Aug 03, 2015Well, it might not be a good idea because if the tank sweats in the summer it could mess up your decoupage. Could be why no one has done it yet.Helpful Reply

Tina on Aug 03, 2015never painted a toilet tank lid but I did paint a toilet seat, was renting at the time and asked the landlord for a new seat and he told me to paint it which I did, It was still tacky and I had a husband that would take the newspaper into the bathroom and read. Need I tell you that he stuck to it, I still chuckle about to this day and that was 50 years ago. Had to redo it.Helpful Reply
