Ceiling lamp replacement

I recently moved into a 20yr Modular home. in the dining area a gaudy crystal chandelier that in no way fits my taste . I bought a hanging ceiling lamp that would take the spot and transform it beautifully, however, the lamp I bought for replacement is just a hang via decorative hook lamp with a swag cord. SO after taking the original lamp down, capping the electrical wires and probably find a cover of some sort to mask the hole.is there a way to somehow attach a hook threw the cover that will be strong enough to hang my desired lamp?

Here you go. I had no idea they existed, but a quick Google search with the right term and I found some. Knowing what they are, you might be able to find them at a local lighting store. https://www.etsy.com/listing/232439766/8-colours-diy-ceiling-canopy-mounting?ref=market There's more here. https://www.etsy.com/market/ceiling_canopy

@Z , Thank you, I had no idea such a thing existed! Seems like a simple fix. I will cut the wires from the existing light cap the wires and go right over it with a new canopy or use the existing one.

You may be able to insert a toggle bolt through the cover and into the ceiling. You will have to drill a hole, of course, and avoid any preexisting wiring! If your cover is securely attached, you may not have to go into the ceiling, and just bolt your hook through the cover.

@C_ann_g -Thank you, upon gaining knowledge about a "ceiling canopy" from another response, and after taking another look at the existing chandelier, I may be able to reuse the one thats there which already has a hook. I think I can retract the wiring, cap off the wires, reattach the existing canopy and be good to go, or possibly splice the wires from existing to new and go from there. I appreciate your suggestion.
