Try Odoban from Home Depot. I've used it to get my Grandfather's pee out of the car. Test a small spot on the hardwood floor just in case. The other thing you can try is cleaning it with Murphy's Oil Soap. Then coat it with some lemon oil. (all found at grocer). If the Murphy's doesn't get the smell out you may have to put some baking soda down for a day to absorb the smell and then clean again with Murphy's and finish with lemon oil. (btw: lemon oil is great for coating the inside of shower doors with to keep water spots away)

One of my 2 cats (both neutered males) had taken to painting all of my walls, furniture, and anything else he could reach. I was horrified when I got a UV light. He never did that in all of the 9 years I've had him and didn't when I got him a buddy (they love each other and did so right away) but when a strange black cat started showing up outside both of my cats went nuts and the older one (9) started his wall painting, as well as the curtains out in the kitty room. I couldn't keep up with it.

My cats are indoor cats so it's not like the stray is actually going to get in here but they both hate him (and he is weird...my neighbor's cats hate him too). I've tried cleaning with a pet urine enzyme and then spraying some "No More Spraying" but that hasn't worked. He's a sneaky little bugger too; he waits until he thinks I'm not looking and then does it. He's learned that the minute I see him backing his butt up to something he gets yelled at.

It wasn't until I found "Cat Spraying No More" that I was able to finally get rid of this tiresome behavior. Odorban didn't work well for me at all actually!

Now my house doesn't smell like a litter box anymore :)

Here's a link the their site if you're interested in checking it out: http://2.nomorecatpee.com

I hope you guys don't mind me sharing this. Cheers!

I was given some furniture by a relative who owned 3 dogs and a dozen cats. I tried a whole bunch of stuff trying to clean and deodorize that furniture, with limited success. Then someone turned me on to Fresh Wave. It worked great and it's all natural!! THEY had tried everything for the problem they were having and finally achieved success with Fresh Wave. It comes in a variety of forms. I think you would want the 'Multi-Purpose Additive'. Check out their website!! I can't find it everywhere, where I live, but Ace Hardware and Bed, Bath, and Beyond have it. Good luck!! I hope you find a solution! There's nothing quite like the delightful odor of cat urine, LOL!!!

My go-to for urine smells is Pine Sol. Just pour on full strength and wipe up, then use a damp cloth to wipe up any residue. Gone forever. Can even use it in your laundry. I do suggest a spot test in an out of the way area to make sure the finish stays intact.

There's a product called Nature's Miracle at the pet store for this. If the Odorban doesn't do it, I'd give that a try.

I use vinegar with water on my floors. I have a puppy and prior to her training it was a constant cleanup. I do not have any odors now.

I was cleaning out a trailer house, one time, that the person had a lot of male cats and the urine smell was terrible. I found something in that trailer that I wanted to keep but it reeked of cat urine, I had tried so many thing through the years because I have cats and sometimes before I could get them fixed they would spray!! Well, I got on the internet and typed in remedies for cat urine and found a recipe but it was $8.00, well, after trying everything else that didn't work I figured this better work and it did!!!! It's just hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and a couple of drops of dish soap!! I mix mine in a spray bottle and spray on the area, just leave it and let it dry, if it still smells repeat! The worse the smell, sometimes it takes a little longer but it does work!! Oh, word of warning, though, if you put it in a spray bottle, when you get through unscrew the top and just let it set on top or take it off completely cause if you don't it will erupt!! :) the hydrogen peroxide and baking soda mixed together form a gas!!! I literally soaked everything with this and even my cats couldn't smell anything after that, and you know, if you have cats, that they can smell cat spray even when we can't!! It's also cheap and just about everybody has this in their cabinet.

Hi Sherrie, thanks so much for the tip. Would you mind telling me the amounts/ratios you need when mixing it?

I un-tarped my pontoon boat one yr and found stray neighborhood cats had not only made their home in my boat but had kittens in it! They're like mice..can get in anywhere!! Anyway, my Sis sent me a recipe : In a gallon container add 15oz of Hydrogen Peroxide , 1 tbs. baking soda, and one pump of dawn dishwashing detergent Then fill with water and shake vigorously for 1 minute making sure it foams. immediately spray on area and let dry completely. You may have a white residue , just vacuum up or wipe away. I made several gallons since my boat is 25' . Cleared it right up. I use this for all odor smells. Good luck.

I have the same issue. Everything I have used.....Natures Miracle and hydrogen peroxide have removed the finish on my floor. I have two cats so I don't know who keeps doing this. My floor had the old wax finish. I want to sand and polyurthane it but I am not sure if the ployurethane will stand up to cat pee if it happens again.

Soak the area with white vinegar. Then sprinkle baking soda over the top. Allow it to dry. Vacuum up the clumps of baking soda with the pee in them. If its really saturated, its not likely to work that well.

If you use any sort of strong smelling antiseptic etc., or anything that has a strong odour, the animal, be it cat or dog, will come back and re-squirt or re-wee to reinforce their territory. The best thing to do is just wipe over with a tiny bit of washing liquid in water (minimal). If it persists, go to the Vet. They have several products that when you spray around, will calm the animal down. Don't yell and scream at the pet. Because then you are yelling at them for doing something natural, and then their behaviour will only get worse. Take the dog out to their "special spot" where they poop, or take the pussy cat to their litter tray. And praise them for using the litter tray, or going to the toilet outside. Shouting and yelling will never fix the problem. See your local Vet. And make sure you praise them when they do the right thing. One of my little dogs, stands at the back door and barks when she wants to go out, and I ALWAYS praise her and say what a good girl she is - they absolutely respond to positive words.
