My DIY Outdoor Coffee Table

We recently purchased an outdoor set of furniture from IKEA but unfortunately the matching coffee table was sold out (and I'm not a matchy person so I don't know why it bothered me for a minute - but it did) Anyway, I had an old coffee table frame in storage and some left over lumber (we're living in a fixer upper - so lots of things like that on hand lol).
This was the easiest DIY I've ever done I think. The wood was simply cut to size (there's a rim on the frame so the wood rests inside of it).
I stained the planks with some walnut colored gel stain (there's a finish in the gel so that's all I needed) and voila! An outdoor table I like far better than the Ikea one!
Should have built the sofa too LOL!! More pics on the blog.
Enjoyed the project?

Carole on Aug 06, 2015I like this immensely! Don't you love it when something just comes together like that! It was just meant to be! Love the solid look and the simplicity of it. Well done you!
