Not sure what to make if this "nineties spunky man contact " that is stuck inside this cupboard I'm doing up....no comment ha ha. Since I decided to remove it (I know, what am I thinking? hee hee)....it's stuck on well...I've tried to peel off but it is just coming off little pieces at a time. Is there an easier way?

A blow dryer should soften the adhesive making it easier to remove.

Yep, heat it up with blow dryer. Keep moving to keep from tearing it when you start pulling it.

I have this in my rental, and I'm not exactly sure, but I think the contact paper on my shelves is emitting an odor of must. I've cleaned and cleaned and no luck. I think I may use this method to remove the paper. Thanks!

Would GooGone take it off? Or try WD40.

You could also try vinegar---soak paper towels or spray it on. I use apple cider vinegar. a friend who used this method at the paper mill suggested it---worked for me

Wow ... that's an idea. I thought of uding "goo remover " product but thought the oily residue would affect me repainting the cupboard.

@Sarah Tabor, brought up a good point. Once the "paper" is gone, you'll more than likely have an adhesive residue so you'll need to clean that off and let it air dry for a couple days (depending on humidity) before you can install new contact paper or anything else.

Have you tried an iron to heat it ( over a towel)? or a hair dryer. I used an iron ,it pulls off easy if you do it slowly. I am assuming it is plastic like on top. It was tiresome work, but no glue left. Used vinegar straight to wash it off.

Just cover it with nicer/newer contact paper.

I would but the paper smells musty and wanted to try and get the smell out too.

Get a heat gun. Comes off like a dream.

@Kathy Fanning Medaris that is my suggestion, too. warm it gently with heat gun and be ready with putty knife

Try using your hairdryer , running it back and forth over the contac paper while pulling it up..I'm not sure of this will work but it would be the first thing I'd try. Good luck

OMG hair dryer works! Took around 10 minutes to remove from a very old drawer. A little glue residue is there. Using Denatured Alcohol to try and remove.

    Thanks Everyone!
