What color to paint my furniture

Cynthia H on Aug 08, 2015What about a much lighter shade of gray than the walls? I find gray on gray very serene.Helpful Reply

Tana, Little Red Bag Productions on Aug 08, 2015It depends on whether or not you wish the room to remain monochromatic or use the side tables to add a "pop" of colour/character.... Should you wish a more consistent feel, consider painting the tables white to stand out against your walls and paint the drawer(s) the same colour as the wall. Add a beautiful hit of hardware in the antique pewter found in the lamp. If you are looking for a little bit of contrast, consider cream as shown in picture - it marries beautifully with grey and white. Remember to apply a bit of black somewhere to anchor the room!Helpful Reply

Kayo Frazier on Aug 08, 2015Ok, Here's my 2 cents...Why limit yourself to just nightstands? You could look around your home for unusual pieces of furniture that could serve your purpose as a nightstand. Don't know how crafty you are, but you could get a stack of plain hat boxes, then decoupage them w/ scrap paper, OR find 2 steamer trunks OR stack old suitcases paint them w/ a bright color like red, teal, or your favorite color. Hope this helps.Helpful Reply

Kayo Frazier on Aug 09, 2015Depending on what you get for decor (steamer trunks standing up) rather than tables. As long as you have room for a alarm clock, tv remote...You should be good. Tuck the lamps behind the trunks or on the side. Each lamp has it's own power. It should work out beautifully.Helpful Reply

MaureenB on Aug 10, 2015Hi Karen, I would use white, the a little less lightergreythN the walls & touches of black in the veins of the marbling. If I were using crackle paint I would use two shades of grey & white. The grey would be more of a bluey Grey. Not a black Grey. Hope this helps.Helpful Reply

MaureenB on Aug 10, 2015Hi Karen. I have done both & they were stunning but in you instance I would do he marbling it is softer. To make use of colour maybe consider it in the linens & curtaining/cushions etc. coral or peach would be great. Another colour that goes well with greys is buttercup yellow. My favourite with greys are grey/burgundy/pink. Good luck with whatever you choose & enjoy doing it. Maybe you can post some pics when you are finish.Helpful Reply
