DIY Rustic Boho Shelves

In our smallish living room, there's a small sliver of wall space between a window and the corner of the room. I wanted to do something here where I could display all the pretty things that I had to pack up when my now 3 year old started walking. Naturally a DIY shelving solution was in order.
Having a love for bohemian decor and rustic style, I blended the two with chunky wood and slightly industrial white IKEA ekby lerberg brackets. I wanted a different look than what the brackets give used traditionally so I "hacked" them to hold the shelves from the topside (I've got a tutorial for doing this in the blog post).
For a boho feel, I chose to use a variation of decorative pieces. From vintage liquor bottles to brass mortar and pestle (pharmacy is my day job) to my favorite crystals and stones. All of the items play well together because of the similar tones and the cute bowl that pulls in all the pops of color.
Now this corner works for me by being a constant surface I can style. And my plants are happy to have their space, too. More pictures of this room and the tutorial for the shelves can be found on my blog :)
