Thrift Store Lantern Update

Easy
Sometimes you stumble across the perfect decor item while thrift store shopping, except for one thing... the color. I've watched friends pass an item up because the color didn't match their decor! It's super easy to change a simple thing like color though, which is why you should never pass up a cute decor item just because the shade was wrong.
I found this cute metal lantern for $4 in a thrift shop. It was in excellent shape. But the faded lime green just didn't match any of my decor. No problem!
For me this is always the first step when I've purchased something second hand. Dirt and dust makes it difficult to do a good job with any refinish, especially one involving paint.
Next for the color change! This $5 can of spray paint has lasted through three projects now! Spray paint is a really great and super easy way to update a piece. This metal lantern took the paint very well.
I could have stopped there and had a lovely new lantern, but I wanted to add a few more details to it! I really love this etching cream, it's so easy to use!
Now instead of a faded lime green, it's a beautiful hammered copper with lovely etched glass!

BRILLIANT! I love spray paint, too, especially the hammered effect!

Anyone know how to take off a boo boo? I've tried baking soda, vinegar and scraping. Thinking I'll put a bigger object over it to cover it up.
