Jud184040 on Aug 14, 2015It opens only at nights. So once you see the bloom you have to look for it to open in the night, then it closes by daylight and that's it.Helpful Reply

Shari Coppinger on Aug 16, 2015I thought that the buds were never a success also. I had been told that it was an indoor plant here in New England. I believe it is native to Mexico. Once moved to a smaller home I realized it had bloomed because of the wonderful scent it left behind which lasted quite a while after the bloom closed. They were placed in front of a very large window facing N/NE overlooking the water. The reflection of the water seemed to keep it brighter for them. They were happy enough that each plant started having 3 or 4 blossoms about every 6 months. Although the blooms only stayed open a short while, they seemed to be opening anytime they felt like it. I came home from work several times to be revived by a wonderful scent wafting through the house and sometimes even enjoyed the bloom for a few hours. The key for me I think, was the consistent temperature and consistently bright, but not direct sun light. Good luck.Helpful Reply
