I took the blah bland and ugly, and took a lot of your advice to renovate the cabinet into this.
New hardware, glass in doors scraped and fixed.
I used Annie Sloan's chalk paint in French Linen with soft wax.
Maybe I will try my hand at treating the glass in the doors to make them look beveled. (or maybe not) :)
