New Purpose for Old Treadle Base
by

A neighbor was getting rid of a pitiful Singer treadle sewing machine. It was headed to the scrap yard when she "rescued" it for me.
These old sewing machine bases are very versatile and handy. They make fabulous tables and more.
The base and wood had definitely seen better days.
and the poor machine? Someone had stripped her of most of her parts for some reason.
After a good cleaning, some brightly colored spray paint gave the base a fun new look. The best thing about these projects? Paint is so easily changed when you tire of the color.
This sweet gal was missing a wheel. I was able to score one on Ebay!
Enjoyed the project?

Rachel Homer on Sep 07, 2016I actually have an antique/vintage Viking sewing machine/table that has been in storage for many years. It is listed on offerup.com for sale (in Dayton, OH area). This would be a great project for that piece.
