Imagery on Nov 05, 2011That's a tough one...Is there any way to slip a shim into the grill of the ventilation openings to allow for adjustment, instead of removing the screw? Some trim kits have slots that will allow minor adjustments to the microwave feet. If not, firm steady pressure directly to the screw head with the correct size screwdriver may work. Be sure to keep the screwdriver at the exact same angle as the screw, lots of pressure too, this should allow you to free it. Is the adjustment needed small enough that you may be able to lightly finesse the trim kit with a rubber mallet? May work if it only need a slight bump in the right direction. If not, drilling, or ez-out may be your only option. If you are still unsure, you may want to call a handyman to take a look for you....Good luck!Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Nov 08, 2011How long has it been this way?...Is the microwave out of level or just the trim kit?...if it is the microwave and this was a recent install have the installer come back and fix it. A lot of the over head microwave I have installed "hang" from a cabinet of framing above...it may need shimming there. The the opening is out of square then the unit may be "racked" which means is a bit twisting in the vertical plane and the corners are no longer 90 degrees. this might be part of the problem with the door...if the door cap along the side opposite of the hinges is wedge shaped than this could be the problem.Helpful Reply
