With some paint and fabric along with a little "Dose of Diy" tthis lighting fixtures was created. It's not only unique but, fits right into our style we call home.
Table Lamp Makeover

the one the left is what the lamp use to look like before. It was found at the thrift store and didn't come with a shade, to create a shade a trash basket from the dollar store was transformed into a lampshade and a garland of berries were added to the bottom to pull in all the color of my daughters room. When my daughter expressed she no longer wanted this lamp in her room I was happy to take it off her hands and Upcycle it for the family room
For the makeover the entire table lamp and shade was sprayed white, once it was dry, some leftover material, ( I used to recover my kitchen chairs) was used and wrapped to the middle pole of the lamp. See the picture on right with the blue and white jar, can you see where I am going with this new design? Don't you just love navy blue and white together?
By adding the material it mimics the design of the jar, while applying navy blue paint to different parts of the lamp shares the same colors and coordinates with the rest of the blue and white pieces
The Wire Basket shade (made from Dollar Store Waste Basket) the top and the bottom received strips of the material by weaving it in and out of the holes of the wire basket and if you look closely the harp was also wrapped with the same material.
For more ideas using the same idea stop by One More Time Events and check out how the other one was made... I have shared how the lampshade was made here at Hometalk http://www.hometalk.com/diy/decorate/rooms/dollar-store-wire-basket-lampshade-1395874?se=rep-20150817&utm_medium=email&utm_source=rep&date=20150817&cid=1613922 if you lke to see how that was made...

LOVE!!! Question please...Where did you purchase the material? It is just what I have been looking for to do my kitchen chairs and perhaps even a runner.
