If it is sinking, you may want to consider having it raised back to where it should be. Often that IS the cheapest alternative. If it’s broken, you will need to repair it by filling in cracks, and raising it may not be an option if it’s broken. And whether repairing the cracks can be done depends on the size and depth of the crack. If you can’t raise it, or it’s broken into sections and if it’s only the top, not the sides, that are uneven, a new layer of concrete will work and it’s the least expensive. I did this to a sidewalk that was dipping badly on one side. You will have to build a frame around the patio, to the new depth, and use a level to make sure that it is level, even all around. I highly recommend placing some plastic between that frame and patio to help keep the poured concrete from adhering to your framework. Since you probably won’t be pouring a deep level of concrete, you don’t want to break it when removing the frame. You can get clear plastic in rolls at any big home improvement store, but even if it’s only kitchen plastic wrap it’s better than nothing. You may need to “prep” the concrete base first. I placed some large concrete/masonry nails nice and deep into mine, then placed some metal screen over the top. This was to help “tie” the old and new together and avoid future separation. An extra that I did (unnecessary but looks nice) was to finish it off with a top coat of pebble stone. Very tiny stone sprinkled over the damp concrete and very gently pressed into it. (again making sure it was level). Then, finished that with an epoxy top coat. This can be a DIY. But, there are probably people that will also do this very cheaply for you if you want to save your back. It isn’t easy work.

I love acid wash......it is so beautiful, and can be done by even the least handy person like me......buy at home supply stores.

If your concrete is un-level because of settling, it may still settle after you fix it, my suggestion is to put sand over the concrete until all level then lay your choice of brick, tile, wood for a new patio you could reclaim someone else's old patio blocks like we did and then painted them brick red.

I would try concrete stain. Maybe a few colours to make a faux stone pattern.

I once painted a patio with light tan porch paint that matched the color of the house, almost a dark cream color. Then I sponged over it with a medium tan to add texture and color. BONUS: the medium tan color was just about the same color as dried mud, so it hid the dirt! I didn't plan that, so it was a wonderful surprise. It was easy to do and very durable.
