Denise on Aug 23, 2015Do you have a big front porch? Im down south and thats what we do. If not, cut in half, make corner seating area, or benches fr your dining room table, like a banquette. Or, cut the pew in half. Make a bench. Cut the other half in half, where the back meets the seat. Make a nice dinner table out of it. If kneelers are wood, cut in half as you did the pew. Use both kneelers to make side table(s). Put together as you would pallet wood, side by side, until wide enough and long enough for your table. Good luck. Post pics so we can see!!Helpful Reply

Jenni on Aug 24, 2015You might think about turning it on end and add shelves. Glass shelves would be really neat. You could sand the wood and leave natural or stain or paint. Have fun with it whatever you do!!Helpful Reply

LoriKindler on Aug 24, 201510" happens to be the minimum overhang for an eat in island. You could use that as the "front" of the island with cabinets backing it. You would have a place to put cookbooks or the kids' art.Helpful Reply

Becky D on Aug 24, 2015I bought a house in 2005 that had been partially remodeled. The person before us used church pews to make all the shelving and woodwork in the kitchen. I love it.. the rest needs an update again but those will stay.Helpful Reply

LD on Aug 24, 2015You could make it into a bookcase with a display rack, and on the backside you could create a chalkboard/dry erase board with a scoreboard. The piece then could be used in a child's bedroom or playroom whereby creating two areas, one for reading and one for learning.Helpful Reply

Valerie on Aug 25, 2015It resembles a headboard to me. If perhaps the room it might dwell in is large (bed in the middle of the room), have the shelf be on the back of the headboard as a way to separate the bed area from a desk/study/library area. Perhaps place a top on it making it into a table (sofa table) or room divider. Or add a platform and legs at chair height to make a bench.Helpful Reply

Henri001 on Aug 25, 2015Make a headboard in the center of it...the ends can be retrofitted into attached nightstands ...then surround with bookcase/shelves and attach some industrial lights on either side above the nightstands!Helpful Reply
