If you go to a craft store such as Michael's you will find stained glass paints in all different colors, and thin tape that looks just like lead strips. Follow the directions and you will have a fine looking stained glass window.

If you want to DIY the paint, you can mix acrylic paint and plain white glue (like Elmer's) and put it in a little squeeze bottle (like travel size bottles for toiletries). Tape your design on the opposite side of the glass so you have your pattern to go by and just color in the shapes. The glue will dry clear leaving the paint color looking like stained glass. This is especially good if you get bored with the pattern and want to change it. Just take the edge of a sharp knife, cut out a certain color and peel it off or take it all off.

I used Gallery Glass...google it for patterns, tips and ideas. I used it in my bathroom 4 years ago and a border across the top of my kitchen window 3 years ago, see pics. Washing, steaming and the sun streaming through my west facing window doesn't affect the paint the colors are still vibrant. Also a plus when I'm ready to remove them they will just peel off.
