Joanne Costello on Aug 24, 2015We laid plywood and painted it with outdoor porch floor paint. Be sure to use the same color primer as you will get scratches and it will take on a distressed look. You can also stencil the ply. It got us through our 2 and a home based daycare til we could afford to refinish the real hard wood floors. Be sure to use screws so it will be easier to take up when you can.Helpful Reply

Susen Gail on Aug 25, 2015I had fifty year old linoleum that as yuck . . . cleaned it with ammonia to get all the old wax off. Then lightly sanded it. Used Zinnsner's paint for first coat. Then laid out squares with painter's tape and sponge painted black and white squares with water based paint. It takes awhile to dry, but it's been down there for four years and still looks like new. However, white is not the greatest color for a floor because it shows everything! Happy Decorating! Annie Sloan chalk paint also has a floor sealer that I plan to use on the patio. Just haven' gotten that far yet. susenHelpful Reply
