Can you paint white tile countertops?

My kitchen counter is made of white tiles, can I paint them to look like granite?

    Yes they sell paint that resembles a granite finish.

    My son who does a lot of remodeling says that it needs to be done by a professional because for a good job it needs to be acid washed first. I had consulted him about changing the color of my bathroom tile and as proficient as he is he told me I needed to hire a professional.

      @Madeline O I would have to agree Madeline, because its a surface that gets more wear and tear. It just wont last.

    I used to do this a lot. I would clean the tile and grought and wipe it again with Alcohol. I drew out a pattern and see if I liked it . If the grout wasn't too bad I would leave it or repaint the grout to go into the pattern. I used craft paint for clay pots. After I would seal it with marine urethane and wa la..Have fun. I did back splashes and drain boards. You can even make them look like granite or marble.

    Yep... I did it. Mine looks just like granite and it's just paint. you can get a kit on amazon that provides everything you need - even a step by step video and an online link if you can't play the cd. It's VERY easy!
