I made a few wood slat stars a few months back to use as patriotic decor in my booth at an antique mall. When I brought them home to put away for next year, inspiration struck.
Here are the stars when I brought them home.
You can visit my blog at the link below if you'd like to see how I made the stars. (I used paint stir sticks that I purchased at Wal-mart for these.)
I wrapped natural jute twine around the five points on each star.
then using a heavy gauge wire, I added vintage mason jars to each star.
The stars can be used to hold fresh flowers, fresh cut herbs, seasonal cuttings or even a small battery operated candle.
They would be a cute wreath alternative on a front door or hanging on your porch.
Enjoyed the project?

Have a question about this project?
I'm having a hard time making the star shape with 5 equally sized sticks. It seems like one needs to be a bit shorter. Is that correct? Thank you.
