Anyone have any suggestions to enhance this mirror with table

Janet Pizaro on Aug 31, 2015It depends on where you decide to place the piece. Are you going to hang the mirror?Do you want to refinish the piece?Helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Aug 31, 2015heres just a thought I would not add a basket as I feel it will distract the piece. How about finding something to compliment the piece either across from it or even something up on the wallHelpful Reply

OhSally on Aug 31, 2015It's beautiful! One great thing about mirrors is that they visually enlarge a space which should work well for an entry...I'd maybe put an attractive covered box on top so you can drop your keys off as you come in the front door, then hang something gorgeous on the opposite wall that can be reflected in the mirror. I wouldn't really "do" anything to it except enjoy it! It's gorgeous!Helpful Reply

Carolyn on Sep 01, 2015I had the exact mirrored table. It makes a great statement in the foyer! It looks great with a small lamp on the table with another decorative piece that you love. The beveled mirrors reflect so much light and beauty! I sure do wish I still had it! Move it somewhere new and see if it gives you the look you want. Unless it is damaged I would not do anything to it.Helpful Reply

Debbie on Sep 01, 2015I love the table. I wouldn't change it a bit. Perhaps you can alternate what's sitting on the table. Maybe a grouping of candles or a hurricane, a pretty bowl to hold potpourri or misc small collectibles or keys and things. How about changing the display with the seasons or holidays.Helpful Reply

Duv310660 on Sep 01, 2015Your pic is showing up a little small for me, so I'll have to be general: 1. proportion: anything like flowers, etc., sitting there should be larger. The mirror is majestic, so it commands something with a taller height and a bigger presence - right now the upper space looks empty. 2. function: this is similar in build to a fancy hall tree - in Victorian times, this might have had a hook for a top hat and/or an attending stand for a parasol or walking stick. I have one of these trees with a seat that was bequeathed to me; so formal it begged to be in our front hall, But. Just. Too. Big. (not to mention that it tended to accumulate the most unattractive outerwear :-( So, after a lot of soul searching, I came up with something that many folks think is a tad peculiar, but makes me very happy because it perfectly answered a number of conundrums about my rambling Victorian farmhouse: we have 3 entrances, the 'proper' one, the one to where the kitchen staff should be working, and a room that was added later, the original outdoor kitchen and well was enclosed early 1900's and later became a mud & laundry room when the house acquired indoor plumbing in 1960 (imagine!). This is what I did: I dressed up this room in very grand late 50's early sixties decor (Ralph Lauren's Hyacinth on walls and white/blue flecked plus purple/blue flecked vinyl checkered floor for dancing; there is an old stable bench in there looking both rustic and grand below some 'mudroom storage' for coats, etc; I hung a huge gold-framed classic stlll life on what was once the brick hearth for a transitional wood stove before indoor furnace was acquired; I hung an elaborate crystal chandelier beside the well-pulley (if you know where to look, you can pull up a tile, turn on the light and look into the original stone well), and below the back stairs sits my heirloom. I could sit on the seat to remove my boots - and under the seat is a place for winter gear such as mittens. The seat is also the place where things collect that need to be taken upstairs to be put away; it is the stairway I use most often. So is my hall-tree hugely functional? No, it is not. But it is Lovely, Meaningful, and In The Right Place where I get to look at it many times a day... perhaps it's main function IS to give me pleasure.Helpful Reply

Carolyn on Sep 01, 2015Since I had this mirror I know it looks beautiful with a small lamp on it with another small accessory. The light from the lamp looks so pretty since the mirrors are beveled. If you ever decide to sell I think let e know!Helpful Reply
