Katherine on Aug 31, 2015In some parts of the country butterfly bushes are considered invasive. I have about a dozen volunteers coming up in my yard from 3 that I actually planted.Helpful Reply

Kim Smith on Sep 01, 2015That top one is surely a butterfly bush. They usually multiply and are really pretty. In Ohio, we cut them down in winter and they grow back to a full and huge bush the next year. The second one looks like it may be St John's wort? Not sure but the flowers and some of those leaves look like it.Helpful Reply

Jeanne Grunert on Sep 01, 2015I think your yellow plant is coreopsis. The top is butterfly bush. Where are you located? For the yellow flowers, a wild flower id site for your state may be helpful.Helpful Reply
