Patty S on Sep 01, 2015I was a faux painter before retiring. You can use most any paint to redo your floor. You could even use several colors to marbleize it. Just be sure to finish it with a clear sealer. I always used a Marine varnish.Helpful Reply

Marsha Schwarz on Sep 02, 2015I agree with Patty S. I would also suggest a 'chalk paint'... no not the kind for a chalk board, but 'chalk paint' as it will stick to anything and finishes nicely with a wax and or sealer. I think Home Depot carries it now, along with Walmart? Annie Sloan is the popular yet very expensive brand. Others are cheaper.Helpful Reply

Maletta Casebolt on Sep 02, 2015I have also simply used regular paint as a previous post suggested and sealed mine with several coats of polyurethane. They have lasted with no problems. Just make sure you get the clear. You can decide if you want it to have a shiny finish or just a little bit of luster. I like it both ways but it's definitely doable. If you want to get creative, you can stencil or add other decorative ideas beyond just the marble look!Helpful Reply
