Lauren365 on Sep 06, 2015the melting point of copper is 1984 degrees F, so I'm pretty sure you will be fine ;) however, be careful of any finishes on the copper. For example there could be a poly, oil, or other coating sprayed on it it keep it the untarnished color.Helpful Reply

Robin Robinson Stamm on Sep 09, 2015I have a neighbor who put a copper backspash around the main counters in his kitchen. It was gorgeous when it had a nice copper sheen. Since then, the elements have done their thing, and the pretty copper look has been replaced by a dark metal look. The guy who installed this is a perfectionist, so he researched it and did everything that was recommended. He now regrets his decision and is planning to pull it out and go with a different material for the backsplash. It's a lovely idea but based on what I've seen (with my own eyes even) I wouldn't do it.Helpful Reply
