I use a brad nailer/stapler from Harbor Freight, brand new is about $20. Bought new staple just yesterday, 5000 for 2.99. A tiny compressor is all thats needed to make your job SOOOOOOO much easier!

I probably bought the same one from Harbor Freight - an 18 gauge brad nailer. I used it to attach baseboard in the whole house, and to put up a board and batten wall, as well as numerous small projects. (We already had a compressor). It's corded, but all the battery ones required that you buy the battery separately. For the price, WELL worth it.

We have several air nailers but a couple of months ago I purchased the Ryobi battery powered nailer and love it!

A ton of folks think you HAVE to spend huge bucks for tools. Well, folks around sites like this ain't building new neighborhood's and skyscrapers....right? I've had mine for almost 3 years, the last one lasted almost 10 years....cost for both, a whopping $38. :)

I can't get the 1 1/2" nails much the 2" nails to go thru the oak that they use on the pallets, and I use the 18 gauge one from Harbor freight as well? any suggestions?

I use mostly pine - don't think I've tried on oak. Believe the compressor needs to be at 100 psi - does your compressor go up that high?

Most of the time, I buy them at Harbor Freight, but, Lowe's or Home Depot or a good hardware store will have a good supply for more money.

My compresser goes to 110 psi, what am I doing wrong?

@Dee Lynch the REAL problem is the oak, sorry. It is one of the hardest woods out there....and especially hard if the oak is older and drier, its almost like concrete! sorry!
