I spray painted my end tables and I'm painting a design on them. My design will be done with painters tape and painted between the tape. How long should I wait to tape over the painted surface?

It varies depending how well you prepared your piece before painting and how thick you applied your paint but I would wait a couple of days. I have always heard that it takes a week for paint to "cure", however.

Elaine is correct. It really takes about a week to properly cure the paint, especially if it is humid in your area. I know you want to dig in and get it finished but you will risk having some of your sprayed, painted surface peel up even with the painters tape.

I would wait about a week as well. I don't know about your weather but it is very hot and humid here in NY
