I wanted a rustic look so I purchased some pre-made wood crates at Michaels and decided to use dark stain and a bold red and accessorize with galvanized metal. Perfect for the small nook in our boy’s room, but can be totally customized for a girl’s space too!
We recently did a small makeover in the boy’s room; added board and batten, painted the ceilings, and organized closets, drawers and everything in between. We donated a few pieces and about a bajillion books to Goodwill, and were left with a small pile of books that had no place to live now. This easy to put together bookcase was the perfect solution!
Repurposing a wood crate is a very simple way to display books, electronics, knick knacks, and more! You can also opt to hang the crates on the wall for more floor space–get creative!
