Z on Sep 03, 2015@cindy my hubby and I have talked about staining our garage floor for awhile now, too many other more important things in our project book, but with your question I thought I'd go ahead and do some research. I'm glad I did as I found an informative site, that not only tells of the qualities and limitations, but shares brand names. We have hoped to find something safer than an acid dye and in the link below it tells of water based dyes, whic makes me very happy. I hope it helps and makes you happy too. http://www.concretenetwork.com/concrete/concrete_dyes/how_dyes_work.htmlHelpful Reply

Beatrice Tangeman on Sep 04, 2015I think it's lovely the way it is. Maybe sealing it will bring out the color that it has and make it more vibrant.Helpful Reply

Wendy Roberts on Sep 04, 2015I would try sealing also. I had black caps on my stone walk that looked faded. I sealed it and it brought the colour back to a shiny blackHelpful Reply

Janet chambers on Sep 04, 2015I would seal it also. I used concrete stain on my outside water fountain and half of it had already washed off by the end of summer.Helpful Reply

Marge on Sep 04, 2015I agree with sealing it. It would give it a wet look and show off the stone tiles. I wish I had your table!Helpful Reply

Swa394717 on Sep 04, 2015Pressure washing it may brighten it up for you first. Then maybe seal it. Add a planter with colorful flowers (even artificial) to add pizzazz. Best of luck.Helpful Reply

LD on Sep 04, 2015First you need to power wash the concrete to remove dirt, grime, etc. If you decide to paint the concrete, you have to seal it first before painting, otherwise the concrete pulls the color in and you will not get a uniform looking finish, and make sure to use paint that is designed for concrete. If you choose to stain the concrete here is a link for Quikrete Cement Stainer http://www.quikrete.com/AtHome/Video-Applying-Translucent-Concrete-Stains.aspHelpful Reply
