A Tale of Two Dormer Windows

So we are nearing the end of our master bathroom and closet renovation, but today the project I'm sharing with you is the two dormer window areas that we have totally completed! Both of these dormer window spaces were unusable the way they were originally designed, but now they are not only functional but beautiful as well!!
Let me start with the closet dormer window area, it was an 8ft. long by 4ft. wide space which didn't allow room for anything useful in it and didn't allow enough light to come into the closet.

We moved the walls back 4ft. which left us only a 4ft. deep dormer "well". We built cabinets into the knee walls on either side for shoes, purses, sweaters etc. This is all my awesome space to enjoy!
My awesome hubby built these pull out shelves which I lined with hot pink vinyl fabric and made leather pulls for as well. The fabric is just laying in there, but it's heavy enough that it doesn't move around and will allow for easy cleanup when necessary. The drawers are full extension and soft close and are perfect for my closet needs!
This is the bathroom dormer window, it was especially annoying to me... I mean who puts a window seat down an 8ft. long bathroom hall. Just stupid and serves no purpose whatsoever. Would you sit here? What reason would you have to sit here? I just don't get it...
We added an easy floating vanity top, lots of gorgeous board and batten throughout the bathroom and a new valance.
We also added a built in laundry basket space in to the knee wall area here. It's in the perfect spot!
We also added a receptacle and a swing arm vanity light for extra light when needed, but during the day this space is flooded with natural light as you can see!
If you're interested in seeing more pictures and learning more about this renovation hop on over to my blog and check it out! Hopefully we will have more finished bathroom projects soon!

The transformation is beautiful! Also, I'm curious as to where you found the head planter?

We made fold down desk in our dormers for the kids to do homework at. Also had a door for storage one side.

i love my dormers. one has a chaise, small table and is a great place to read or have my little grand daughter spend the night, the other has a bench for storage and seating and bookshelves. i've never seen my dormers as a waste of space.
