Have You Heard Of "Colonial Funk"?
by
AK Complete Home Renovations
(IC: professional)
Colonial Funk is the latest way to give a traditional home a more modern spin. Where else can you pair a traditional brocade pattern and Queen Anne chairs with black lacquer wood and stainless steel? We think this fun new style is an exciting way to combine accessories collected over time that might represent the different styles one has embraced over a lifetime: http://bit.ly/p0BqS1

WallsTreat Studio/ Kass Wilson on Sep 02, 2011This sounds like a style that we see a lot in true "eclectic" style. It is a blending of traditional with contemporary. A talented designer can pull this off and it is stunning. I would love to see some photos of how you have seen this done.

AK Complete Home Renovations on Sep 06, 2011This is probably the closest thing we've done to this design style. Yet! It's not true colonial, but was a great kitchen facelift where some modern touches were added on traditional bones! (The cabinets were faux finished!)
