  • Great yard sale find!!

Framed prints, a yard sale find.

I found these prints of Paris and London at a yard sale for $1.00 each. SCORE!!! I took them to Hobby Lobby during a 50% off sale and had them matted and framed. They make a large statement on my living room wall for little investment, and they remind me of my time there :) I smile everytime I look at them.

GARBAGE TURNED TO TREASURE - 3 Flower Stands that were Old, Rusty & Curbsided......Turned Brand New With Only SprayPaint

(Double Click on Actual Pictures To Get Full View Of Collages) Why spend over $20 for Flower Stands for Containers & Potters in a store, when you simply don't have to. I would normally ...»
say look in your local thrift stores and/or garage sales for the stands but to be truthful, previous owners think they are so dirty & rusty, they don't even attempt to sell them, they curbside them & toss them into their garbage. I have picked countless on the sides of the road and I have asked the garage sale sellers and they wouldn't even let me pay for it. And all it took was 2 Cans of RUST-OL-EUM Spray Paint and/or any other Spray Paint Brand that says it works well with Outdoors, metal, wood, plastic....etc. I've even spray painted the flower containers that you purchase your hanging plants from.....choose any color you like and they look like brand new container!!! Here are just some pics of the 3 latest Flower Garden Decor Stands that I just recently & very easily and quickly worked on. And I all I did was Wash them done with a sponge, scrub brush (which took off any lifting rust and then hosed all the soap off with a garden hose. Let it dry for a day. The next day, I spray painted each of the planters with one top coat. After a few hours, I gave it a second coat. The following day once it was completely dry, I turned the planters upside down and repeated the process for the underside & bottom of the planter, as well as inside legs. Allow one day to dry......& Waaa'la, you have yourself 3 Brand New Flower stands and/or Garden decor for only 2-3 spray paint cans of your colored choice! (P.S. Also works on plastic Window Boxes....Covers, the green, Burgendy & white!) Enjoy! Hope You'll Try It! :)

Repurposing a Garage Sale Cabinet

This old knotty pine cabinet was $5.00 at a garage sale. The good news was that it had castors, a drawer and a lot of cabinet space. I brought it home, painted it with some home made ...»
chalk paint, added cubbie storage to the top and now I have a great storage piece for my craft room! Not a bad deal!

Garage sale lamp gets a facelift

Paid $5 for a pair of lamps at a garage sale, they were an ugly colour but in good shape. A can of white spray paint, a new lamp shade and they were transformed.

Garage Sale Coffee Table Makeover

I found a ordinary brown wood coffee table at a local church sale a few weeks ago. By removing a few of the pieces it had and adding some rusty metal this table has a whole new look. #proudestDIY ...»
