  • Display odds and ends. Need a place to display your stuff? Give your ladder a fresh coat of paint and create tiered shelves by adding a few planks of wood across each set of steps.
  • Store your shoes. Lean an old ladder against the wall and hang a pair of shoes on each rung! You'll showcase your favorite footwear and keep them organized at the same time.
  • Create extra shelving. Sometimes, to reuse something in a new way, all you need to do is look at it from a different angle. Take any standard wooden ladder and flip it horizontally. Boom! Instant shelf space.
  • Organize magazines. Stacking magazines on your coffee table can be a recipe for clutter. Avoid this problem by hanging your favorite magazines from ladder rungs, instead!
  • Hang kids clothes. This is a great tip for homes that have limited closet space! The space between ladder rungs is the perfect spot for small shirts and sweaters.
  • Hold scarves and jewelry. Do you own more scarves or necklaces than you can keep track of? Perfect – use a ladder to hold them all! Secure your necklaces and bracelets around one ladder rung, and layer your scarves on another.

An old metal rack my husband found in a barn.

I have used this three tier cage for garden tools, and decided Why not plants? I lined it with old coconut filler, but that was not enough so I found moss at a garden store cheaper. I ...»
added potting soil. Started plugging in pieces of plants I had. Voila! I am happy with it. It is a work in progress. It is free standing in full sun. The fun thing is I can put shade loving plants on the second or third tier and I can plug in plants that like to run into the sides of the cage. I also have a few little frogs hanging around if you look real hard. The airplane plants just shoot out, and the coleus on top just brightens it up (when the grasshoppers aren't too hungry.)

Looking at this does anyone know what this was originally used for? It is a cage with three openings on one side, but cage all the way around.

the darker ones, which is common bu they sure spread the color.

  • Love "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles.
The lyrics are hand stamped in red across the white & black striped slats. If you can't find a pallet, you can make one, too.

black & white stripes. I put a big light turquoise heart in the center because red would be too obvious.

No, really, because I am loving turquoise this year, so why not a blue heart?

Anyway, I think it turned out really funky and fun.
