About Me:

I am a wife, mother of four, grandmother of four (to date), and work outside the home part time. In my free time you can find me working on a project and blogging about it to help others see what they can do. My "Under the Stairs Playhouse" has to be the most "fun thing" to build for the grand babies. http://joy2journey.blogspot.com/2012/01/i-f...

Favorite area of home improvement:

I love to do it all! but I guess building is my favorite thing to do. I have built a deck, laid tile, finished 2 basements (including framing, duct work, running electrical wire, putting up drywall, and all the other things that go with that!), and so many other things. I just love it all!!! :)

My Creative Cottage/Studio

My favorite space, my studio/cottage. We built this about 5 years ago and I still love it. Go here for a step by step:

http://backwoodscottage.blogspot.com/2011/...

We spent about $5000 on materials and we did all the work ourselves. This is a fully insulated, electrically wired with plumbing (a sink for washing out my paint brushes) and it is heated, so this is not just a glorified shed. ...»

Landscape Lighting

Low voltage lighting is an essential addition to any landscape. It extends the hours that you can enjoy your outdoors, as well as another dimension of BEAUTY and added security to your property.

Concrete Garden Path

We made this garden walkway with a mold that we purchased at Lowe's. We mixed the Quickcrete up and then poured it into the mold a section at a time. It was almost like making mud pies. It was a bit time consuming but we were very happy with the end result. It has held up very well as it has been down now for about 3 years.
