  • This bathtub is 30+ years old, and has seen many renters come and go before we bought our condo. It was stained, but didn't have any cracks or chips, so I decided to paint rather than replace.
  • The bathtub with it's new shiny bright white paint. I couldn't get the two drains off, so I just painted right over them. 1
  • The first coat of paint going on. You can see how dingy and drab the color of the tub was compared to the bright white paint. 2

DIY Painted Bathtub

I just finished painting my bathtub a couple of days ago. I used Rust-Oleum Tub & Tile Refinishing Kit, and it's still curing (you're not supposed to get water on it for three days), but ...»
the paint seems very durable. Of course, it IS paint, so it won't last forever, but I think this is a very good solution if you want a somewhat easy fix for an ugly, outdated tub, and don't quite have the budget for a complete replacement. More details (including a video) at the link below.

  • This is the finished bench. The colors remind me of a gypsy wagon. I toiled over the colors for a year and finally was inspired by the color on a plastic tumbler. I took it to the lumber yard and they matched the color. 23
  • This is the bed how I bought it from the thrift store for $35.00.
  • This is the bed with the footboard turned upside down and it fashioned into a bench before the painting started. 3
  • Got it all sanded and primed and still had no idea what color it was going to be. 1
  • First color. Deciding what should be what color was the fun part!

My First and Favorite Junk Garden Purchase

About 15 years ago I purchased my first and favorite junk garden collectible, my wheelbarrow. I paid $15 for it at a garage sale. I filled it with two vintage galvanized laundry tubs, and ...»
planted them with annuals. I protect it's chippy condition with a coat of clear Thompson's water seal every other year.
