A toilet bowl being filled with cola product

1. Refreshing Cola Cleanse

Head over to your favorite dollar store and grab a bottle of cola. Pour approximately one cup of this fizzy goodness into your toilet bowl. Let it sit for a few minutes, allowing the cola to work its magic on those stubborn rings and grime.

Take a scrub brush and give your toilet a good scrubbing. Once you're satisfied, flush it all away, and voila! Your toilet will be gleaming like new.

2. Save water

Grab an empty container, such as a vinegar bottle, and place it in your tank. This will take up some space, helping you save water with each flush.

Scrub the toilet bowl with Kool-Aid for a refreshing shine

3. Freshening with Kool-Aid

Tear the top off a packet of Kool-Aid and drop it into the water in the tank. Take your scrub brush and give the tank a good scrubbing, ensuring that the citric acid in the Kool-Aid works its magic on cleaning the tank. Finally, flush the toilet to complete the process and enjoy the lemon-fresh scent.

Apply clear nail polish to seal toilet screws

4. Rust Prevention Potion

Over time, the screws in our toilets can rust and cause unsightly marks. To prevent this, grab some clear nail polish and seal each screw with a coat of polish. This protective layer will shield the screws from further rusting, keeping your toilet looking spick and span.

Place vinegar-soaked paper towel under the toilet rim

5. Vinegar Overnight Soak

Say goodbye to stubborn grime hiding beneath the rim of your toilet bowl.

Grab some paper towels and moisten them with vinegar. Fold them up and place them under the rim, letting them sit overnight. The vinegar will work its magic, making the grime much easier to clean off the next morning. Remove the paper towels and prepare to be amazed at the results.

Polish the toilet handle with baby oil

6. Handle Polish

Let's give your toilet handle a little extra shine. Take some baby oil and rub it onto the handle. Watch as it transforms, leaving your handle looking bright and beautiful.

Poke holes in a container to release antibacterial cleaner

7. Antibacterial Infusion

Get yourself a small container and poke a hole or two into it. Fill the container with your favorite antibacterial cleaner and place it in the toilet tank.

Now, every time you flush your toilet, a small amount of the cleaner will be released, helping to keep your toilet fresh and clean. Isn't that handy?

Toilet bomb mix: baking soda, Kool-Aid, and a little bit of water

8. Fizzing Toilet Bombs

Prepare yourself for some fizzy fun! In a bowl, mix about a tablespoon of baking soda, a packet of Kool-Aid, and a little bit of water. Blend them together until you can shape the mixture into a ball.

Homemade toilet bomb

Drop this toilet bomb into the bowl and watch it fizz and dissolve. Grab your trusty toilet brush and start scrubbing away.

The citric acid from the Kool-Aid and the cleaning power of baking soda will leave your toilet bowl sparkling. Flush to reveal the fruits of your labor—a clean and fresh-smelling throne.

Add Kool-Aid to the toilet tank to check for leaks

9. Leaky Flapper Check

Let's make sure your toilet isn't leaking. Remove the back lid of your toilet tank and pour some Kool-Aid into the tank. Keep an eye out for any discoloration, especially lines running down the bowl. If you spot any, it's time to repair and replace the flapper to stop the leak.

Decant hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle

10. Hydrogen Peroxide Power

For a germ-killing, eco-friendly approach, grab some hydrogen peroxide with a concentration of no more than 3%.

Spray hydrogen peroxide inside the toilet bowl

Pour it into a squirt bottle and give the inside of your toilet a good spray. Make sure to get under the lip of the toilet as well.

Pour hydrogen peroxide into the toilet bowl

Add about half a cup to one cup of hydrogen peroxide into the bowl and let it soak.

Pour hydrogen peroxide into the toilet tank

Remove the lid of the tank and pour the same amount into it.

Clean the toilet seat, hinges, and other nooks and crannies with hydrogen peroxide

Cleaning from top to bottom is the key, so grab some paper towels or an old rag and start wiping down the tank, lid, handle, and toilet seat. Give the toilet bowl a thorough scrub with a toilet brush, making sure to reach under the lip. Flush your toilet, replace the seat if necessary, and admire the sparkling cleanliness.
