Hi Amy, (my daughter's name too!) I have washed many small rugs in the summer time. Wool and synthetic. I fill my windex thing that fits on the hose with whatever I am using as a detergent. Hose the rug with that and then rinse with clear water. BUT I have placed the rug over a hammock which allows drainage and drying. If your driveway itself is clean and clear that would probably work too, but I would try to elevate the rug on some chairs or saw horses or something so the air can circulate around it.

I have heard of people doing this with one of those fillable hose bottles sort of like the ones you fertilize your lawn/garden with, filled with carpet shampoo, then rinsing with clear water. The same with spraying it first with something like Resolve, then high pressure hose it off.And using a regular carpet cleaner on it,in the drive way.Start out farther down the drive way so that once it has drained and partially dried, you can pull it closer up to dry pavement to let it finish drying.

Hope that helps give you an idea that works for you. ☺

I did it all the time but I had chain link fence. I would wash with hose & soap & rinse & threw over fence & spray again to get soap & dirty water out & let dry spring -fall in California but here in Ohio its harder to do with rain one day & dry & rain again. Have to checking for dryness. Good luck.

Yup - you can, just make sure your drive is clean first with no oil. I take my smaller ones and a hall runner outside and lay them on a table. I use a very diluted kitchen soap in a spray bottle., then go over it with a scrub brush. rinse well!.
