Hi there, you can try a heat gun or an iron, it should soften the glue enough to peal it off.
maybe soften the glue with Goo Gone
the heat gun idea sounds like it might work, and a decent scraper..say about 4" wide. If it is over a finished wood floor the "varnish" will stand up to the scraping. Whatever happens, you might have to at least lightly sand and put another coat of finish on the floor when done. Be sure to clean it well. A pad painter on a long handle works well for this.
