Sometimes a water and baking soda paste works to remove the oil. Apply the paste, let it dry then rub off with sos pad (if it is stainless steel) or a soft sponge (if it is non-stick).

Bar Keepers Best Friend. It can be purchased at Dollar General, Lowes, Wal Mart stores

If the baking soda paste doesn't help, the Bar Keepers Friend is a great thing. I got a used set of Salad Master pans that were coated with oil and burnt did and Bar Keepers Friend made them look brand new

A couple inches of water. 1/4 cup laundry detergent. Bring to a boil & turn off. Let sit overnight.
