Faucets are made of alloys, and there are many kinds of alloys. Vinegar may damage the coating on your faucets, but it’s worth a try. I like to clean all my bathroom hardware except the shower spray with Scrubbing Bubbles, rinse and then polish with an old soft towel. I clean around the faucets and down the drains with an old toothbrush and lots of water and baking soda. I “floss” the edges of the faucets with the thin side of a towel. I don’t use flossing thread because I don’t want to destroy any of the caulk. I also wipe out my sink after every use with my hand or a paper towel. My sink looks really good even before I really clean it. ☺️
Combine equal parts water and white vinegar. Wipe down the faucet with the solution. Use a toothbrush and vinegar solution to remove stains around the faucet base. For stubborn water spots, soak a rag in the solution then lay it over the faucet. Wait five minutes so the vinegar can loosen the spots, and then wipe the faucet clean. Rinse the faucet assembly with clear water and wipe dry. Buff the chrome with silver polish to bring back its shine and remove any remaining discoloration.
There is a product found in most home improvement stores and even some Walmart’s called ”Bar Keepers Friend”. It is a gold, silver and blue hour-glass shaped plastic bottle. It is a soft cleanser, but you will want to wear gloves when working with it. And, it is ABSOLUTELY MAGIC! It removes rust, lime, stains and tarnish on porcelain, stainless steel, ceramic, copper, tile, and glass. It is my “Go To” cleaner. You’ll love it!
