What do you want to use it on/for? the baking soda will cut the acid in the vinegar resulting in a diluted salt water type solution......... so need soak area first with vinegar to remove mineral deposits/burnt on food then need to scrub with the baking soda mixed with dawn dish soap then rinse rinse well with hot water. Vinegar contains acetic acid and baking soda contains sodium bicarbonate. Their reaction makes carbonic acid, an unstable acid that quickly breaks down into carbon dioxide and water. The carbon dioxide then rapidly bubbles out of the water, creating a diluted salt water solution.

Depends what you are cleaning. Great for lifting stains from carpet or fabrics. A slurry of vinegar and baking soda cleans deposits off faucets. Do not use on granite or marble. Will etch the surface. Great cleaner for ovens and oven doors.

  • Hi Gail - This is the all-purpose cleaner that we use and it works really well. You can always change up the scents too. After changing my diet, switching over to all-natural homemade (primary) and store-bought (backup) has been huge for improving my health. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly

  • I suppose it depends on what you're cleaning. If you need a paste you use less vinegar.

You can make a thick paste by using less vinegar and more baking soada, a thinner version using more vinegar and less baking soda for whatever you are attempting to clean. Be sure that what you are going to clean isn't one of the surfaces that it shouldn't be used on such as granite or marble and perhaps other finishes.

Mix equal parts baking soda and vinegar and apply to any stains. Leave the mixture until it's stopped bubbling, and then wipe away with a damp cloth. Stubborn stains may need a few repeat treatments

This works great on drains, what are you trying to clean?

  • Technically you can’t really make a solution ahead with these ingredients as the combination quickly expends and turns to essentially water. You can use them together to clean a drain, say, but as a cleaner, it’s ineffective.

  • Hi Gail! You can mix two parts baking soda with one part vinegar and one part water. Then, mix until it creates a thick paste. Spread the paste onto the mouldy surface and let it dry. Once dry, scrub it off and rinse with warm water, then repeat until the mould is removed. Hope this helps!

Making a cleaning solution with vinegar and baking soda is easy! Start by mixing equal parts vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Then, sprinkle baking soda on the surface you want to clean and spray it with the vinegar solution. The mixture will fizz and bubble, helping to loosen dirt and grime.

You can use this solution to clean surfaces like countertops, sinks, and showers. It's effective and eco-friendly. For tougher stains, you can also make a paste with baking soda and water and scrub the area before spraying with the vinegar solution.

Hi Gail, hope this helps you. Combine 1 2/3 cups of baking soda and ½ cup of liquid soap (Dawn) in a bowl. Mix ½ cup of water with 2 tablespoons of white vinegar. Combine the two mixtures and stir thoroughly to remove any lumps. Put the mixture into a spray bottle and shake well.
