Wood Finial Ornaments

When you look at this wood finial, what do you see? I see a Christmas ornament, and these were so easy to make! Let me show you how I did it.

I used inexpensive wood finials and a variety of wood beads to create a totally custom Christmas ornament.

The first step was removing the screw from the finial. Next, I glued the large wood bead (with flat end) to the top, and a small wood bead to the bottom to create a drop finial shape. But that's not all...

Next, I painted the ornaments with 2 coats of paint, I chose a light seafoam green color to match my green and gold tree. You can use any paint you have on hand!

The next step was to create a hanger for the top of the ornament. I painted some small wood beads with this gold paint, glued them together, and hot glued a small eye hook into the hold on the top bead. The whole piece was glued to the tops of my DIY ornaments.

As you can see, I also added a few embellishments with the gold paint.

Didn't they turn out great? I'm loving these easy wood finial ornaments on my Christmas tree.

I love these. I paint ornaments and I’d like to paint free hand and I think some tiny birds or flowers would make these even more vintage looking! Thank you

Love these. I have saved a few carved finials thru the years. Now I know what to do!

    Merry Christmas 🎄 from Texas
