Sew first and cut below, should keep it from fraying. A serger is also great! Fabric glue could also be used, run a thin line.
You can also use a sealer to close it up when you're done cutting!
I think the lady is talking about lint. Kind of like a towel.
Wash the burlap after you sew it This should stop it.
I would use Bais Tape, I did read another lady mentioned Fabic Glue.
if you go that way , first try the glue on the Burlap. Some fabic Glue
turns the fabic where the glue is darker.
To keep the lint dust from shedding, spray the finished curtains with starch - give it a good coating. I made a burlap macrame years ago and this kept me from breathing in all the dust.
I used hairspray for my burlap curtains I made.
Hairspray or any other laquer or varnish base. Even if you wash with a heavysizing, then iron will help
You might use a wash away stabilizer.Burlap is quite dusty and leaves alot of residue. It might leave alot of dust or lint in your machine. Make sure you clean your machine good after sewing with this.
