You could try a craft spray or fabric sealer but I don't know if it would get stiff from the sealer. Try it in a small spot that doesn't show, like an inside seam first. Cover everything else up, then spray that one spot and let dry. Once it's dry, you'll know if it will work or not. Another suggestion is to wash it multiple times then wear it around your home to see if it still sheds. One more idea is to spray it with scent-free hairspray. You could combine the washing with the sealer - either fabric or hairspray. Wishing you the best & Happy Holidays.

I agree with Darlene, Hair spray should work.
This is so weird. As soon as I saw the question, I thought "Hair spray."
Some hairsprays can "dull" the glitter's shine, just as it can with your hair. I would be mindful as to what brand of hairspray to use. Not all hairspray is created equal.
