I have 3 and mine are older and not the fancy ones they have now. Absolutely love them! But I must have at least 20 varieties of glue, just depends on the project you are working on.
I prefer the lower heat guns because I tend to burn myself with the other ones. They are great for attaching flowers to wreaths, crafts that won't get wet. My six year old granddaughter likes me to make "puddles" for her fairy village. Can also help secure something while you wait for the glue to set.
hot glue is a marvelous thing... it can hold things together while you wait for a more permanent glue to set up. It will not hold (things like wreaths or silk flowers) once temps get over about 90 degrees... glue gets soft and the flowers or pine cones just sort of oooze off the base. It also does not hold up well in freezing or very wet conditions (kind of like removing gum from hair using ice). There are various types of hot glue guns and the glues that you use in them. Glues for fabrics, wood, metal, ceramics, etc... most "general purpose" glues do well on anything but metal or glass (some glass may not tolerate heat well and could break) and the glue peels right off of it.
There are regular sized glue guns... the glue sticks are about 1/2 inch in diameter and come in 4 inch or 8-10 inch lengths
and there is the mini version... the glue sticks are about 1/4 inch in diameter, with a 4 inch length.
There are glue guns that have different tips for use with different applications (just make sure the gun is cool before trying to change tips)
Not all glue sticks will fit in every glue gun... (Sears used to make a glue gun that only glue sticks you bought from them would fit in their gun) and one brand uses an oval glue stick.
Every crafter needs at least one in their tool kit (I have 3)
Yes thank you! I have two but I’ve been gun shy 😄
