How can I fix the cracking where the wall and baseboard meet?

When the area is first painted it looks fine. However in time the paint between the wall and the baseboard comes apart so there is an unsightly open seam. Of course the paint is different on walls then baseboards. One is matte and the other is semi gloss. And the color is different as well.

A bead of silicone will fix the problem. Easy to do once you get the hang of it. Lots of tutorials available.

I have used white cock in a tube to fill all unsightly holes everywhere in the house, if you do a good job you might not need to repaint

Caulking fill the crack nicely, tends to help seal those cracks that appear with seasonal weather changes.

I find using a caulk tube/ gun is better for a job like this than the "toothpaste" type dispensing caulk. Have wet wipes as needed -to keep your smoothing index finger clean, wiping after each caulk pull. Allow caulk to cure per packaging before use.
