How do we stop our vinyl floor from sinking?

Our computer desk is right between kitchen and family room, and we've had a wheeled desk chair there for the 3 years we had these floors. Now the boards seem to be getting a little depressed, you can feel the seams with your stocking feet. How do we remedy this? A clear plastic or glass floor mat? That's right in the walkway so I would hate that! But I don't want to ruin our luxury vinyl floors! Ideas?

How about a piece of underlayment plywood stained as close to the vinyl flooring.

It doesn’t sound like the floors are the problem, it sounds like a subfloor problem or possibly a floor joist. If you are able to get under the house you need to inspect the problem area. Check for moisture and insect damage. If you find anything questionable contact a contractor for an estimate. We sure don’t want anyone falling through, nor a structural issue. Hope this helps!

We have large aquariums in our house, whether we build the stands or the tanks come with stands, we put plywood under them to spread the weight and finish them to the color of the edging on the aquariums or to match the floor. You need something under the desk chair to disperse the weight of the chair rolling back and forth in the same spots and compressing the pad under the vinyl. It will also help keep the flooring from damage from the rollers.
